Foreigners whose presence provides benefits for national development (having and maintaining economic interests in Indonesia) to carry out the investment can have a house for residence or dwelling with certain rights.
Home ownership and acquisition of land by foreigners can be done by:
- Buy or build a house on the ground with a right to use on State land or right to use of land Freehold;
- Buy apartment units were built on land right to use on State land;
- Buy or build a house on land Freehold or Lease for Building Rights on the basis of a written agreement with the owner of the land in question.
This Agreement may be extended provided that not more than 25 years, and foreigners still remain in parts of Indonesia. If the foreign person is not in Indonesia, then within 1 year had waived his right to the land or divert to other people who are qualified, if no later than the specified time period:
- The house is built on State land use rights, controlled by the State for at auction;
- The house is based on an agreement with the holder of the rights to the land itself belongs to the holder of the rights to the land in question.
